LVs RIDE

A Cross Country Trip to Break the Cycle of Poverty in America

"I was asked to develop a logo for this cross-country cycle trip, and it spiraled from there."

In August 2010, the logo design was under way. First came a few group sessions on naming of the trip. Pedaling for Poverty was among the few that hit the drawing room floor.

Once the logo was complete, a full website went live with information on the ride, the route, why this was being done, and more.

After months of helping with the planning, pulling together marketing and advertising materials to bring in not only riders, but funding support and more, the journey began.

The website was re-purposed as a trip tracker (create with WordPress), called the "Ride Journal." Daily updates included the work of Liz Jodice, an on-staff journalist at the LVs Ride main office, along with continual video logs from a videographer documenting every mile of the ride (interviewed and selected from a host of candidates by Al Cassidy).

After 2,000 miles, the ride had already reached $80,000 of it's $100,00 goal.

The website received close to 20,000 visitors during the trip, with close to 2,000 unique viewers.
